I am not a psychologist, psychiatrist, or a counselor. Knowing what we have been through and talking with friends what have also been through this, these are my own personal suggestions for whatever they are worth. Stop and think about what is driving your ex-wife’s behavior. In the cases I have seen, the ex-wife is angry and bitter that the ex-husband stopped loving her and has, most likely, moved on with his life.
Understanding is not the same as excusing. There is no justification in the world for nasty behavior, no matter who hurt who.

It’s easy, because of your history, to jump to conclusions or have preconceived notions of what her motives are or what she’s thinking. Dealing With a High Conflict Ex-Wife in 5 Easy Steps
Got an interesting email last week that I wanted to answer publicly. And, well, I kind of splurged on this one. The following email is from a man concerned about his relationships with women. In fact, I get just as many emails like the one below from women disparaging the manipulative men in their life as I do the opposite, so this has nothing to do with gender.
Now, I know nobody thinks they are willing to deal with manipulative behaviors from their partners.
I don’t recommend dating or moving forward in a relationship with a heterosexually married gay man (HMGM) unless he has an open, totally above-board agreement with his wife. IE he isn’t out to her then to avoid deception and heartache I suggest avoiding him and walking the other way.
This kind of jealousy and comparison would make you come across as insecure and thus unattractive and also as plainly annoying to your partner. Further, it is likely to make you very unhappy. This is just the nature of life. There is nothing wrong with it, and this is just life. I do understand that it is part of my punishment in his fathers eyes for leaving. My hands were tied, I would of taken him with if I could have.

The text was from his ex-girlfriend arranging to meet him for lunch on Friday.
He had gone outside to speak privately, and I had a hunch it was something untoward. When the text came I thought it might have been important. He came up soon after and we talked. He defended being friends with her they dated for about two years saying she helped him during a very difficult time in his life and so on. Also, I pointed out his tendency to keep his relations with her private.
